Mount Merapi

Mount Marapi is also known as Merapi, located at an altitude of 1210 m above sea level (dpl). Mount Merapi is close to the City of Bukittinggi, precisely around Agam District and Tanah Datar, West Sumatra, Indonesia. As one of the most active mountain in Sumatra, Merapi has erupted frequently. Starting from the late 18th century until 2008 recorded about 454 times already erupted, 50 of them in a large scale, while the rest are small scale with the issue of sulfur ash.

Privileges
Among the many mountains in West Sumatra, Mount Merapi is a tourist attraction that is often visited by tourists. Mount Merapi has a fixed point for the climbers, making it easier for the climbers to make the climb. Getting There

Access to reach the Mount Merapi is easy enough, considering its location is not far from the center of Bukittinggi and Padang Panjang. From Padang or Minangkabau International Airport to Mount Merapi takes about 1.5 hours to get to the location. Meanwhile, if departed from Bukittinggi City takes approximately 30 minutes. Transportation to reach the location can be done through land routes, can use public transport or travel. Transportation costs between Rp 15,000 – Rp 20,000 per person.

Accommodation
Merapi location not far from the city of Bukittinggi and Padang Panjang. In view of Mount Merapi near two city, the tourists from out of town who want to linger in the area, can stay in a hotel in the two city’s.
